My 9-year-old needed zero help from me, which says a lot since he usually gives up on craft kits in ten minutes. The pieces snap together without glue, and the little thing actually plays a tune when you slide it. Pocket-sized enough that he's been carrying it around all week.

Assembled the whole thing in about twenty minutes and was genuinely surprised it actually plays in tune. The reed plates fit together without any fiddling, which I was worried about. Now it lives in my jacket pocket for waiting rooms.

Put this together with my nephew on a rainy afternoon and he was genuinely proud when it actually played. All the little reeds and screws were in the box, and it only took about twenty minutes. Tucked it in his pocket and he hasn't stopped tooting it since.
