Terrakotta Vattenpålning

My peace lilies were looking droopy every time I traveled, so I screwed one of these onto an old wine bottle and filled it up. The terracotta's slow-release osmosis kept the soil perfectly damp for over a week, and I came back to perky leaves without any overwatering mess.

Took a few tries to get the bottle seal right, but once it's snug the water level drops noticeably over a couple days. My fern looks perkier already, and the terracotta slowly wicks moisture without making the soil soggy.

I was skeptical about the osmosis thing, but watching the terracotta slowly release water into my fern's soil over a week is honestly kind of mesmerizing. Fits a standard wine bottle perfectly, so I never have to remember to buy special inserts.
