The rubber underside actually works - my keyboard and mouse don't slide around at all during long work sessions. Felt is thick enough that my wrists don't ache after a few hours, and it fits my laptop plus a notepad without feeling cramped.

I was a little worried a felt pad would slide around, but it hasn't budged an inch since I put it down. My laptop and mouse fit comfortably with room to spare, and the surface is soft enough that my wrists don't ache after a long day.

The rubber grip on the underside is the reason I’m not constantly chasing my mousepad across the desk anymore. It’s huge enough that my laptop and elbow both fit comfortably, and the felt is soft but sturdy under my wrists.
